  • TERMINATOR 5

Fast Five's director, Justin Lin, is a very busy man.

He's gearing up to shoot Fast Six and Seven, back to back, and conclude the Fast and Furious franchise. So where does that leave thedirector's most anticipated project: A fifth Terminator movie with Arnold?

"The timing for that is a little bit off [in thedistance] but the good thing is it doesn't feel like creatively it's beencompromised," Lin told The LA Times. "I don't think anyone is tryingto hurry anything. I'm hopeful it will work out but at the same time I'm goingto be hard on that film if I get a chance to make it. With that franchise, that's what it deserves."

In the article, Lin also commented on the story meetings hehad with James Cameron and Schwarzenegger before the project stalled. Linteased that the filmmakers came up with a story that addresses how the agelessTerminator machine will look 65-plus, once Arnold dons the leather jacketagain.

"There is a way to do that," Lin said. "Idon't want to give anything away but I have a very clear idea thematically andarc-wise where we can go."

While Lin did not give a specific timetable as to when we'llsee Skynet on the big screen again, he did promise that, being a fan of thefranchise, he won't rush things. He told the Times that he would rather"leave the franchise at four than deliver a fifth movie that didn't liveup to the brand's early standards", specifically the first two Terminatorfilms.
