Originally in development at DreamWorks but taken off the scheduleearlier this year, Southpaw is back on track at MGM, says a story at TheHollywood Reporter. Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) will direct and Sony Pictureswill distribute.

Written by "Sons of Anarchy" creator/executiveproducer Kurt Sutter, the film will star rapper/actor Eminem as a left-handedwelterweight boxer whose career is marked by a fast rise, a dramatic fall and afight to reclaim his former glory.

Originally described by Sutter as a sort of metaphoricsequel to 8 Mile, the film will be produced by Eminem's Shady Films managersand producing partners Paul Rosenberg and Stuart Parr, and Alan and Peter Richeof Riche Productions.
