It's been clinging to life for awhile now through a changeof directors and such, but the live-action version of Akira is not down and outjust yet.
Variety's Showblitz reports that Warner Bros. is expected tomake a final decision in the days ahead on whether or not to move ahead withthe project:
"WB's seems closer to making a decision on whether togive the film a greenlight after the filmmakers gave a presentation onWednesday to Warner execs that included a revised budget. Sources say mostpeople are confident execs will be happy with the new budget ... but you neverknow in this town."
Orphan director Jaume Collet-Serra recently replaced AlbertHughes at the helm of the on manga adaptation.
