With the wild success of Paranormal Activity 3 this pastweekend, another sequel is almost a sure thing according to Paramount's head ofdomestic distribution Don Harris.

"I can't imagine that we wouldn't make a number four,and I imagine [Paramount Film Group president] Adam Goodman this morning isthinking about the challenge," said Harris. "I'm sure he's thinking,'Now what do I do?'"

Paranormal 3 debuted to record-breaking numbers on Friday inthe United States, opening to $54 million -- the highest grossing weekend for ahorror movie and the biggest opening for an October release ever. Not tooshabby for a $5 million budget. Between the three films, the series has becomeone of the most profitable franchises of all time, grossing over $450 millionworldwide with a combined budget of a meager $8 million and change.

The films have become something of an October tradition forParamount since the first Paranormal's release in 2009. According to The Wrap,Harris claims that 2012 will be no exception, and we'll likely see a ParanormalActivity 4 this same time next year.

"It's certainly possible to have another Octoberrelease," he said. "I'm sure the right material and the rightdirector will have to come together with the budget because they don't spend alot of money."
