Warner Bros. reportedly wants Oscar winner Steven Spielbergto direct their biblical epic Gods and Kings, which recounts the Old Testamentstory of Moses.
"There haven't been formal meetings yet, but Spielberghas read the script by Michael Green and Stuart Hazeldine," according toDeadline. "Getting Spielberg is a long shot on any film because his dealis complex, his dance card is always full, and Warner Bros would have to be willingto share the picture with DreamWorks. Still, I've heard there will be adiscussion."
Co-screenwriter Michael Green is also the creator of theupcoming Spielberg-produced ABC series The River.
Spielberg's next pic, Lincoln, starts filming before year'send.
