George Miller’s long-awaited Mad Max reboot might have beenstuck in development hell for more than a year (some ten years after he startedhyping the project in the first place), but that isn’t about to stop himdiscussing potential sequels, of which there will apparently be two.

“We started with [Fury Road], but we then started to do asecond story and a third,” said Miller to Australian Financial Review. “We’vewritten the script for the second and almost finished the third. We neverintended to, [but] they were part of the exploration of the characters.”

Fury Road’s latest delay came about as a result of thefilm’s arid Australian location being washed away by flash flooding. However, the film will now be relocated to Namibia, with everything supposedly in placefor filming to begin in April.

All being well, Fury Road will see Tom Hardy step into MelGibson’s shoes as post-apocalyptic drifter Max Rockatanski, with CharlizeTheron and Zoe Kravitz also attached in supporting roles.

It started off by me saying,'Why not be in a movie that will play all over the world, but that still hassomething that I can do in it?' Why not?"

Jeremy Renner as Hansel
When asked about the similarities between some of hisupcoming roles, Renner explained that each is very different on a characterlevel.

"It was kind of impossible for me to say no [to thesefilms]," he added, "as long as there was stuff for me to docharacter-wise, selfishly, it's just a bigger setting. A bigger stage."

Already featured in a brief cameo in this past summer'sThor, Renner will soon wield Clint Barton's bow in a more significant capacitycome May 6, 2012.

"[I] was blessed to be a part of [the Marvel]universe," he continued, "because I love what Marvel did withsomething so fantastical and unrealistic, making it kind of plausible, likewhen they did "Iron Man". I just thought those were really greatmovies, the first one in particular... The character of Hawkeye was always cool. He's kind of a rogue, shadowy character. That's what attracted me to him. Thenhe's also a human being. He just has a high skill set, so they call him asuperhero."

While all four blockbuster films are potential franchises,Renner still teased that he's going to be taking a break from the genre.

"You're not going to see me do another action movie fora while," he smiled.

OLD BOY (In Development)

  • OLD BOY

ShockTillYouDrop.com recently visited the set of CBS Filmsthriller 7500 and was able to talk to the film's producer, Roy Lee, about hisupcoming projects.

One of them is the Old Boy remake, to be directed by SpikeLee and starring Josh Brolin. "We are planning to shoot 'Old Boy' in Marchand that should start pre-production in late January," he said. "Thisis a brand new script by Mark Protosevich. It is very similar to the film, butProtosevich has added new elements that will throw off the audience who haveseen the original movie because there are new characters and new situationsthat present themselves in a way that change the story but eventually go in thesame direction. The ending will be something audiences--especially fans of theoriginal movie--will be very happy with. Some may consider it a bitdarker."

He added that "there's going to be a differentinterpretation of the hallway scene that is hopefully going to be Spike'ssignature moment in the movie that he wants to show in a way that has neverbeen seen in an action movie."

Jamie Chung in SuckerPunch
ComingSoon.net got a chance to talk to Jamie Chung on theset of 7500, coming next August, and they asked her about starring in RZA's TheMan with the Iron Fists.

"The original cut was four hours long and RZA was like,'Let's turn it into two movies! [Producer] Eli [Roth] was like, 'Eh...'"she said about the project.

She added: "They're really excited and I have completefaith in RZA, he's a genius when it comes to these things and he knows thegenre so well. So, it's cut down to an hour and a half. Now he's working on themusic. Everyone is stoked but it will have that cool feel like '36th Chamber ofShaolin' or 'Five Deadly Venoms.' It's definitely a delicacy and Russell Croweis doing some amazing things that you would never see him do in film. It's afun movie. I think it may come out in August."

Quentin Tarantino also produced the film, which centers on ablacksmith (RZA) in feudal China who makes weapons for a small village. He isput in the position where he must defend himself and his fellow villagers. LucyLiu and Pam Grier also star.
