This Friday, Fox is celebrating “First Class Friday” asX-Men: First Class makes its Blu-ray and DVD debut.

The studio invited SuperHeroHype down to the lot earliertoday for a sneak peek at the bonus content included on the Blu-ray disc. They hadthe opportunity to speak briefly with the film’s star Lucas Till, the man whobrings Havok to life on-screen.

Lucas Till as Havok

“At the time, I auditioned a number of times. I didn’t feellike I was going to get the role at any point,” he said, painting a picture ofthe secrecy revolving around the film during pre-production, “then I found outwhat the movie was about. They would give us generic sides, our characters werere-named, but it was obvious what we were auditioning for. We were not allowedto read the script. McAvoy told me he was only given a few pages at a time. Weweren’t allowed to read anything, which I understand why. Auditioning for Havokwas the coolest thing to me.”

Talking to the actor, you would have never guessed the firsttime he read a comic book was when he took on the gig. But during the chat, hewould drop references to other X-Men, not featured in the film, or to theShi’ar Empire.

“There was guy whose sole job was to keep us updated. Hegave me this binder and he was very well-versed [in comics] and he had apersonality to match,” Till laughed. “He was the comic book guy, but with anaccent. I’m serious. He gave us these comics and my first exposure to Havok washim with Abdol, the Living Monolith. My favorite arc though was Vulcan, becauseVulcan’s story was cool itself, I love revenge stories. But then, Havok comesin to try and stop him.”

As the interview wrapped up, SHH asked him about the futureof Havok in a potential sequel and what he'd like to see.

“I always try to plan things out," he said, "butthey never work out the way I expect. They work out better than I expected, soI’m going to say there are a lot of different things they could do. I’m moreexcited about what they could do with the movie, there’s so much history andevents they could work into. I’m curious. One little thing I’d like to do inthe sequel is I’d like to see Hank make me some gauntlets to shoot out of myhands so I don’t have to sit in a constipated position or do hula hoopmovements in the next one, although it did look pretty cool. Those are mylittle notes.”
