INDIANA JONES 5 (Update)

  • INDIANA JONES V

Indiana Jones 5 the Happy Family
At a recent 30th Anniversary screening of Raiders of the LostArk, director Steven Spielberg joked about "burning bridges" withCrystal Skull. But fans still want more Indiana Jones. So will Indy V everhappen?

"We talk about it, yes," Spielberg said. "Andwe're hopeful, so some day."

Echoing Spielberg's sentiments at the screening was asurprise guest: Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford!

"Maybe Indy V," Ford said. "But I ain't goingto Mars!" Much laughter ensued.

Ford went on to express great appreciation for the characterand his experiences making all four Indiana Jones adventures, sounding verykeen on wearing the fedora again. "Next time I get a script for IndianaJones, I'd be delighted to play the character again."

Ford joked with Spielberg about how the director only caststhe actor in Indy films. From that, Spielberg dropped a bit of casting trivia:The Beard offered Ford the role of Dr. Alan Grant in 1993's Jurassic Park.(Wow, that would have made for a different movie!)

"My first choice to play [Grant] was Harrison,"Spielberg said. He also explained how he went about making the offer, by havingthe art department mock up art depicting Grant and the film's two kids - Lexand Tim - running away from a T-Rex. The face painted onto Grant's was Ford's.
