Deadline is reporting that Vanessa Hudgens will staropposite Nicolas Cage and John Cusack in the Emmett/Furla Films thriller TheFrozen Ground, which will mark Scott Walker's feature directorial debut. Walkeralso wrote the script.

Based on a true story, Cusack is set to play serial killerRobert Hansen with Cage the police officer who teams with an escaped victim(Hudgens) to catch him. Responsible for the deaths of somewhere between 17 and21 individuals, Hansen lived in Anchorage, Alaska and, despite a somewhattroubled past, was married with two children and served as a well-known memberof the community. After his conviction in 1983, it was theorized that, foryears, Hansen had been kidnapping women and then releasing them into thedesolate Alaskan wilderness to hunt them for sport.

Shooting for the film begins on October 17 in Anchorage,Alaska.
