Robert Knepper

Robert Knepper has signed on for the currently-filmingUniversal Pictures supernatural action film R.I.P.D. (short for "Rest InPeace Department"). The Hollywood Reporter has word that the actor willplay a ghost, which are nicknamed "deados" in the world of the film.

The project, based on Peter Lenkov's Dark Horse comic abouta police department of the dead, will be directed by Robert Schwentke (RED) andwill feature the team-up of Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges. Phil Hay and MattManfredi wrote the screenplay with Mike Richardson, founder and President ofDark Horse, producing alongside Lawrence Gordon and Neal Moritz.

Best known for his role on the Fox television series"Prison Break," Knepper has appeared on the big screen in films likeHitman, Transporter 3 and The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Now filming in Boston, R.I.P.D. is planning a June 28, 2013release.
