Commander Shepard won't be a woman if and when the MassEffect finally becomes a reality.

Kotaku dug up this blog entry at production companyLegendary Pictures' official site -- which was posted back after July's SanDiego Comic-Con, but has remained practically unseen until now -- that answerssome of the biggest questions fans have posed about the highly anticipatedvideo game movie.

In addition to Shepard being a man in the film, Seth Greenwill also not play Joker (a role he has voiced in the games).

But what's confusing about Legendary's blog entry is thatthey say the movie won't be based on any particular Mass Effect game --"It will be a completely new story." -- but that contradicts whatscreenwriter Mark Protosevich said at Legendary's SDCC panel. Protosevich saidthat while he believes Mass Effect has a mythology as rich and deep as those ofStar Wars and Lord of the Rings, they're focusing solely on the first game forthe movie.

So will the story follow the game or will it be new?? Willthe movie be a success or will it flop??? You decide….
