HORRIBLE BOSSES & BRIDESMAIDS (Sequel Talk)

  • HORRIBLE BOSSES &BRIDESMAIDS GETTING SEQUELS

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who wrote the2011 comedy Horrible Bosses, have signed on to draft a sequel, says a story atThe Hollywood Reporter.

Jennifer Anniston Getting Freaky with Charlie Day
The original film starred Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis andCharlie Day as a group of friends that decide to kill off each other's bosses(played by Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrel and Kevin Spacey).

Though plans for the sequel are in the very early stages, itis said that Bateman, Day and Sudeikis are likely to reprise their roles withnegotiations beginning to have director Seth Gordon return as well.

Kirsten Wiig enjoying Chocolate in BridesMaids
And in other news, one of the bigger successes of 2011,Bridesmaids turned its $33 million production budget into over $288 millionworldwide. Naturally, Universal Pictures is keen on duplicating that successand today The Hollywood Reporter is claiming that they may do so without theinvolvement of star Kristen Wiig, who also wrote the screenplay with AnnieMumolo.

"We are talking to filmmakers now about concepts,"a Universal rep told the outlet, "and if the right one emerges, we'll moveforward."

Universal has somewhat of a history of continuing franchiseswithout key players. Vin Diesel declined to return immediately after 2001's TheFast and the Furious and, hitting theaters this year, The Bourne Legacy placesJeremy Renner at the center of the franchise that previously starred MattDamon.

Wiig and Mumolo are said to be working on a differentproject together and are not currently planning a Bridesmaids sequel. ProducerJudd Apatow, meanwhile, is said to be tentatively interested, but only if thoseinvolved can "come up with an idea that is as good or better than thefirst one".

Though nothing is confirmed at this time, it is noted thatit is unlikely that Apatow would proceed without Wiig and Mumolo's involvement.

So while we almost certain to get another Horrible Bossesthe same cannot be said for Bridesmaids.

What do we say?? Lets Mash these two films into one and Create Horrible Bridesmaids!!! These two film were the funniest films for the year, and a sequel that would bring them both together would be HILARIOUS!!! LoL but then again thats just the Comic loving side of us!!!
