Oscar winner Colin Firth was so close to being theantagonist in Spike Lee's Oldboy remake, but he passed on the project. So thatmeans Clive Owen could get the job instead.
Twitch reports that the Children of Men star has beenoffered the villain role opposite Josh Brolin, who will play the"oldboy" of the title. The site reminds us that Owen and Lee havepreviously worked together on Inside Man.
Owen hasn't officially accepted the gig yet.
In other related news, Twitch says that Mia Wasikowska (Alicein Wonderland) has been offered the female lead in the film. The part waspreviously offered to Girl with the Dragon Tattoo starlet Rooney Mara, but sheturned it down as well.
